This is something that's been gnawing at me for a while now, and I've decided to go public with it after watching the cake concert the other day.

There are some common rules that have been thrown about known as concert etiquette. A few of these rules include no blaring the band your going to see in your car as you drive up, no wearing the t-shirt of a band's previous reincarnation to the band's show (i.e. no ATDI shirts at a Mars Volta concert). I'd like to add a couple more.

1. Don't put your hand in my face. It's great that you want to show you're hardcore and all, but i'm a short person. Sure, it's ok to throw up a fist if you think that's all good and punk but if you leave it there for more than a few seconds it starts to hinder my personal enjoyment of the show.
2. NO LIGHTERS. Believe it or not, this has been done before. It's worn out and cliche. Please. Stop.
3. No cell phones in place of a lighter because you don't have one or don't smoke. This actually gets pretty annoying and the only time i've really seen it used for any one good purpose is during a screening of the Britney Spears movie when she starts to sing. Obviously this was an act of sarcasm, don't let it happen at your concert.
4. This is a personal opinion, but asking the audience to sing part of a song is cheating. I paid good money to see your act and you want me to sing? Someone's not doing their job. Besides the fact that it encourages all the people who can't sing and really shouldn't be singing anyways to sing. Not to mention anyone who is drunk. which leads directly into point number five.
5. If you happen to think getting drunk and running into the pit and being obnoxious is fun, well maybe for you but I'm sure not many people enjoy your drunk ass slamming them down while they're trying to dance... or whatever they're doing. Either way, it just makes for a bad situation.

1. Subtle - A New White
This cd is amazing. Listen to F.K.O and you will drool. Kanye West should suck on this for a bit.
2. The Black Keys - Rubber Factory
I don't like the first track. The rest of the cd makes up for it in leaps and bounds.
3. Brian Wilson - Smile
Who doesn't like this cd? Just look at the title. I wonder where he got it from.... 0.o
4. Franz Ferdinand - S/T
Hook, Line, Sinker.
5. Tom Waits - Real Gone
Tom Waits + breakbeats = sex.

So, yeah. I was thinking. That's right, doesn't happen much, but low and behold, I was thinking the other night. See, my friends and i were driving around and we saw this ricer with his super awesome... civic... and of course the wing on this thing was HUGE. Well anyway, he was a really strong, mean looking guy. This prompted my little buddy nick to scream "rice rice rice!" at him. He looked pretty angry and turned up some ghizzetto rap. But unfortunately it didn't seem like he'd gotten around to buying a big ass sub, so we couldn't hear the bass. That didn't phaze us and we were be-bopping right along next to him like we were living the g-code. let me take this time to inform you that we were riding in a dark green ford escort station wagon. Anyways, the guy's physique got me thinking. In this day and age, strength is becoming more and more obsolete. When you step back and look at it, what's the strongest guy in the world gonna do when he's staring down the barrel of a 12-gauge shotgun? I mean honestly, I'd take a large semi-automatic pistol to huge arms and ripped abs in an intimidation situation any day. Honestly, what's more frightening? A guy with arms the size of your face... or a gun of any size? One cause severe bodily trauma.. and the other causes severe bodily trauma, open wounds, shrapnel in your chest, oh and did i mention that i could do the latter from a moving vehicle? Yeah, that's right. The next time some little fucker flicks me off, i'm just gonna whip out a glock and look at him. We'll see who wins that one.

About this time, i look at tommy just in time to hear him yell at me, will, and hunter, "I live with THOSE guys!" to which hunter replies, "YOU DON'T FUCKING SAY SHIT LIKE THAT ABOUT US MAN! YOU DON'T LIVE WITH US AND YOU NEVER WILL." About this time, hunter sat down again. Will and i were staring at him when he looked up, shook his head, and said,

A chair has no problems. It's there; no one bothers it. It doesn't have to pay rent or get involved politically. A chair can never stub its toe or misplace its earmuffs. It doesn't have to smile or get a haircut,and you never have to worry that if you take it to a party it will suddenly start coughing or make a scene...

I was driving home the other day and i saw something that made me laugh.
it was an old car with a don bohn on the westbank sticker on it.
right below the sticker was a large bullet hole.
